Chinese Jewelry Workers Victims of Silicosis

Workers in the Chinese jewelry industry are ailing and dying of silicosis, caused by inhaling silicon particles, or silica dust, in the course of their work cutting gemstones.
 
Working conditions in the factories included unventilated rooms and no face mask protection.
