Tests shows soil around New Bedford High is contaminated
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) -- New Bedford officials say the soil in almost every open space on the city's high school campus is contaminated.
Testing was conducted at the request of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency after PCB contamination was found at a nearby middle school. Tests also detected the presence of arsenic, barium, lead, mercury, cadmium and other chemicals.
