In the wake of the judgement in Rhode Island which ruled lead paint manufacturers liable for damages, the State of California is reinstating their lawsuit against eight paint manufacturers.
 
While lead is no longer used in paint, old buildings continue to pose a hazard especially when the paint chips and children become exposed.
