Toxic Mold Lawsuit Settled in Nevada

At a glance:

A homebuilder has settled a class action suit filed by 181 families in Nevada because of construction problems in their homes. 
 
The builder, Syncon Homes, and certain contractors and roofers will collectively pay over $7 million for repairs of problems, including toxic mold, that stemmed from inadequate drainage. 
 
Residents reported water in side their homes and allergic and other health problems relating to mold.


Settlement reached in $7 million class action

A group of north Douglas County residents involved in a class action lawsuit will receive more than $7 million after settling with Syncon Homes and its subcontractors over drainage and other construction problems.
 
Another $385,000 beyond that settlement was paid to the homeowners by roofers for repairs.
