Builder Loses Moldy Home Lawsuit

A jury awarded Cheryl and Barry Mills $770,000 because they found the home, newly built, was infested with toxic mold from the original wood products.

LYON TOWNSHIP -- A Lyon Township couple whose dream home turned into a toxic nightmare won a $770,000 jury verdict against the builder Wednesday in Oakland Circuit Court.

I was living in Mason City Iowa and really need an attorney as I bought a used mobil home and was told it was ok health wise..after moving in and began to fix it up..new bathroom etc...the home was found to have lots of mold under flooing and the belly of the home as well as the sinks...even in corners of the walls..and floor boards. I need an attorney to recieve my money back that I put into it as well as stop these people from doing this to others. So far they are still doing this. I called the building inspector and he refused to come out to check it out..nor would the health dept. I do have pics of the moldy areas and there are alot..most of which were not visiable to me until I began re-doing the home as I lived in it....since then I have lost 55 lbs??? Could it be from the mold??
