RIP Cigarettes

At a glance:

Authorities in Scotland are calling for a law to force all cigarettes in the country to be "reduced ignition potential" (Rip) cigarettes. 
 
These cigarettes burn more slowly and thus would cause fewer fires when neglected, saving lives. 
 
Such legislation is already on the way in Canada and several US states including New York, Vermont, and California.

NATIONALISTS teamed up with firefighters today to demand the introduction of new cigarettes, which they claimed would reduce the number of fire deaths.
 
SNP MSP Stewart Maxwell is calling for a new law requiring all cigarettes to be reduced ignition potential (Rip) cigarettes.
