Widow Sues Makers of Bulletproof Vests

The widow of a young police officer who was shot and killed during a traffic stop in California is suing the manufacturers of his bulletproof vest.

VISTA – A judge will decide next week whether to dismiss a lawsuit filed by the widow of a murdered Oceanside police officer over whether two companies involved in the production of his bulletproof vest are liable in his death.
 
Superior Court Judge Michael Anello has tentatively ruled in favor of bankrupt Second Chance Body Armor Inc., which made and sold the vest, and Toyobo Co. Ltd., a Japanese company that supplied the Zylon synthetic fibers used
