Formal sentencing In McDonald's hoax case
"He's been remorseful from day one," said attorney Kathleen Schmidt. "I mean, he feels terrible about it. His particular, you know, psychological make-up and IQ, the fact that his girlfriend asked him to come help. I mean, it was almost like the perfect storm of things that culminated in him being at the restaurant and following the caller. People forget he was not there to start with. I mean, Donna Summers called him and asked him to come up for help. He was sitting at home on a Friday night minding his own business."
The manger of that McDonald's, Donna Summers, no longer works for the chain. She has already pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor of criminal confinement.
