Two reports recently of cruises hit with norovirus outbreaks have affected the British cruise industry.  
 
The most recent, the Sea Princess which sailed from Southampton, had to cut short its Mediterranean tour because of the acute, violent gastroenteritis outbreak. 
 
The cruise line has offered passengers a 30% refund. 
 

Second cruise ship struck by virus

A cruise liner has cut short its voyage around the Mediterranean after a virus struck down more than 200 passengers.
 
Emergency medical staff boarded the Sea Princess yesterday and passengers were confined to their cabins after an outbreak believed to be of the Norovirus sparked vomiting and diarrhoea on board the cruiser
