Carnival Cruise Ship Lawsuit Planned by Group Ejected from Cruise Ship

At a glance:

Three couples ejected from a Carnival Cruise ship in the Bahamas plan to sue the cruise line. The couples were asked to leave the ship, according to Carnival Cruise Line, because they were verbally abusive and threatening to the staff of the ship. After a seven hour departure delay caused the group to lose the opportunity and the deposit on a scheduled activity in the Bahamas, they sought redress from the staff of the ship, finally asking to speak to the Captain. When they returned to the boat after a day trip in the Bahamas they were ejected from the ship by security. The group plans to seek a refund on the cruise and for expenses related to their ejection from the ship.

The cruise started badly with a seven-hour departure delay at Port Canaveral on Friday. According to published reports, the Coast Guard kept the Sensation at the dock after determining there were problems with fire-safety screen doors, fire-station valves and watertight doors.

The delay caused the Amditises and Housenicks to miss pre-paid excursions in the Bahamas, said Beverly Housenick, 58.

Worse yet were the conditions on board, the couples said.

"I couldn't use the public restrooms because they weren't working," Gregory Amditis said. "The food tasted awful. Everything was disgusting."
