Family of Man Who Died Following Cruise, to Sue

At a glance:

The family of a 21 year old man who died last year following an illness on a cruise ship is planning to sue the cruise line, Carnival Corp. 
 
He became ill with norovirus, a gastro-intestinal ailment that stems from improper sanitation among food handlers, and died of complications shortly after returning home. 
 
A Carnival spokesman said nothing unusual occurred during the trip.

SWARTZ CREEK, Mich. (AP) — The family of a 21-year-old man is blaming the Carnival cruise ship line for his death from a viral infection.
 
Al Kallas says he knew something was wrong with his son, Jonathan, two days after the family returned from its cruise aboard the Carnival Miracle in January 2005
