Canadian Widow Sues Norwegian Cruise Lines

At a glance:

A Canadian woman is suing Norwegian Cruise Lines over the death of her husband during a cruise in April 2005. 
 
She claims his abdominal illness was wrongly diagnosed and that his evacuation to a medical facility in Mexico was delayed. Furthermore the treatment he received there was inadequate. 
 
He ultimately bled to death from an esophageal tear. 
 
The lawsuit was filed this April in Miami.

A Canadian woman has filed suit in Florida against Norwegian Cruise Lines and two of its doctors, seeking $20 million for the alleged wrongful death of her husband, who died in a Mexican medical facility after taking ill on an April 2005 cruise on the Norwegian Star.
 
Don Jones, 65, bled to death from an apparent esophageal tear at a medical facility in Lazaro, Cardenas, north of Acapulco in Mexico. Over the previous two days, what initially appeared to be a case of indigestion had worsened into extensive vomiting of blood
