Inquiry into Lawsuits on Defective Loveseat Rockers Sold by WalMart
Comment On: Walmart rocking chairs recalled after various injuries

My wife and I were seriously injured when a loveseat rocker in which we were sitting in at a WalMart Store crushed and slammed us into the concrete floor on June 11, 2005. I am wondering is there a class action law suit on-going since 55 falls have been recorded with 45 injuries. We are interested in being two of the claimaints in that suit if there is. We tried to settle with WalMart ourselves. They took no responsibility and said we'd have to contact Goldenwood International, the maker of the chairs in Indonesia. After 6 months we could not get any feedback from either WalMart or Goldenwood International and in Jan 06 a lawfirm in Macon, GA took our case. On Dec 15, 06 we received a letter from the law firm which said they could no longer assist us with our cases. Essentially what they said is since WalMart suggests the manufacturing defect was the cause of our fall, and since Goldenwood International has failed to respond to their correspondence, the expense and time of litigation in "what appears to be a full-blown products case" outweighs the merits of our claims. Do you have any advice for us or tell us where to turn? In only 6 months the 2 year time frame we have to file a claim from the date of the accident (Jun 11, 2005) will have expired. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Sincerely yours, HAWARD EARL WHITE 106 Cherokee Trace Cochran, GA 31014 Home: (478) 934-2172 Work: (478) 926-1929

I understand that the past claims manager for walmart is now in private consulting practice for claims just such as this
