Patient enrollment is complete in the fourth phase of a study, which compares the Medtronic Endeavor stent to the Boston Scientific Taxus Stent. Both are stents that release medication into the patient's bloodstream.

Medtronic drug-eluting stent advancing

MINNEAPOLIS, June 27 (UPI) -- Medtronic said Tuesday it has finished enrolling patients in a study of its drug-eluting coronary stent Endeavor.
 
The Endeavor IV trial is a head-to-head comparison of Medtronic's drug-eluting stent with Boston Scientific's Taxus stent. The company's Endeavor III study compared Medtronic's product to Johnson & Johnson's Cypher stent.
