Incidence Caesarian Section Births Approaches 30%

The National Institutes of Health is to host a conference to study the increasing incidence of Caesarian Section deliveries in the United States. The rate is up to almost 30% of deliveries, double the rate of ten years ago and double the rate desired by the CDC.
 
Some of the increase is due to women choosing to have C-Sections for various non-medical reasons; however there are risks which need to be weighed against the risks of vaginal deliveries. The fear of malpractice suits is also an issue when deciding on delivery method.
