A woman in Scotland plans to sue her local doctors for misdiagnosing her late husband's blood infection. 
 
George Whitecross was initially diagnosed with gastroenteritis, but eventually died in hospital of an overwhelming blood infection (septicemia). His widow claims the doctors making the initial diagnosis overlooked the fact that he had had heart valve replacement surgery several years earlier, and that this was relevant to the diagnosis.

A WIDOW today spoke of the anguish of losing her husband after he contracted a deadly blood disorder.
 
Grandmother Gena Whitecross believes that if doctors at her local medical practice had acted sooner, her husband of 23 years would still be alive.
