No Clear Guidance on Elective C-Sections

At a glance:

A National Institutes of Health Panel concludes that more study is needed to determine whether C-Section births should be performed solely on the basis of maternal request.
 
The risks and benefits are still unclear although it is known that risks are higher with multiple Caesarian delvieries.
 
There is also a risk of inadvertently delivering a baby prematurely when deliveries are scheduled.
