Arthritis Care Not Optimal for the Elderly

A new study suggests that the elderly in the US are not generally receiving proper arthritis care.
 
In interviews with over 300 patients over the age of 75, researchers learned that only about half received the recommended treatment for osteoarthritis, and less than half report being informed of their medication's side effects.
 
The elderly are particularly vulnerable to drug problems because of multiple prescriptions and the frail state of their health.
