Sentencing of Lay, Skilling, Delayed until October

Sentencing for Enron executives Lay and Skilling has been rescheduled from September 11 to October 23, 2006 by US District Judge Sim Lake. 
 
Lay and Skilling were convicted last month of various fraud and conspiracy charges, and Skilling, of insider trading as well, in regard to the Enron debacle. 
 


Sentencing for Lay, Skilling in Enron fraud trial delayed

US District Judge Sim Lake has delayed the sentencing of former Enron executives Kenneth Lay and Jeffrey Skilling until October 23. Lake agreed on Friday to a motion filed by the defense team to delay the sentencing, which was originally scheduled for September 11. Lake is still considering a motion made by Skilling's lawyers to give Skilling access to $60 million in frozen assets.
