Wind Insurance Headaches on the Texas Gulf Coast

At a glance:

Allstate has joined other insurance companies in discontinuing wind damage coverage for properties along the Texas Gulf Coast. 
 
Homeowners will have to find another company, or, as a last resort, enter the Texas Wind Pool, a state-run insurance plan.  
 
Wind Pool coverage might involve headaches of its own, as certain repairs or improvements may have to be inspected and certified, and possibly redone, in order to obtain coverage. 
 
There is also the possibility of a waiver but that has not been finalized.

It's happening again, another insurance company is dropping wind damage coverage for residents along the Texas Gulf Coast.
 
Allstate recently made that announcement and that means thousands of home owners are going to have to find another way to protect their property from hurricanes. For some it will not
