Celebrex and Pfizer go to trial - Commence Au Lawsuit

At a glance:

A woman who had a stroke in 2005 while taking Celebrex, a Bextra sister-medication, is suing Pfizer. The trial is set for June 6th, 2006 and follows in the footsteps of the Merck lawsuits. In those lawsuits, Merck lost one and won two cases.
 
Bextra is in the same family of medications, the Cox-2 inhibitors, that have been linked to high occurance of stroke, heart attack and heart valve damage.


First Celebrex lawsuit going to trial

The first Celebrex lawsuit in the country, filed by a stroke survivor against the drug giant Pfizer, is going to trial this year.
