A class action lawsuit has been launched against French pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Aventis, makers of the popular sleeping pill, Ambien. The lawsuit claims that the top sleeping aid causes adverse side effects such as, eating disorders and sleeping walking.

The pharmaceutical group defends Ambien by disclosing the positive results of numerous clinical trials, and concludes that there is no need for the warning label the drug possesses. In further defense, Sanofi-Aventis reveals that 70,000 Ambien users agree with their findings. Ambien was approved by the FDA in 1993, and generates close to 2 billion dollars for the company worldwide.

French pharmaceutical group Sanofi-Aventis defended the safety of Ambien, the top selling sleeping pill in the world, which faces a class action lawsuit that says it causes sleepwalking and eating disorders.
