British Woman Wins Case, Will Receive Cancer Drug

April 12 (Bloomberg) -- A British breast cancer patient won a legal battle to be provided with the drug Herceptin, which she claims may prolong her life.
 
Ann Marie Rogers, 54, brought a lawsuit against her local health services authority after it refused to fund the treatment, which is marketed in Europe by Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche Holding AG. Rogers, who has already undergone breast mastectomy and chemotherapy treatment, says that Herceptin may cut the chance of her cancer recurring by as much as 50 percent.
