Scorecard for Merck - Vioxx Lawsuits

At a glance:

Six down, more than 11,000 to go. And counting. 
 
That is the tally for Merck in Vioxx lawsuits. 
 
(Not to mention, appeals for the cases Merck has already lost.)

After half dozen Vioxx trials, there is still no clear trend

NEW YORK — After millions in expenses and hundreds of hours of court time in six separate trials, neither Merck & Co. nor plaintiff attorneys have captured the upper hand in the litigation blizzard that followed the withdrawal of the pain medication Vioxx, experts say.
 
Merck, which adamantly insists it will try each case, disclosed this week that the number of lawsuits has grown to more than 11,500, up from about 9,500 three months ago
