Yet Another Reason to Fear NSAIDs

A study in Finland suggests that certain pain medications (NSAIDs, including ibuprofen and naproxen) may increase the risk of erectile dysfunction (ED) over and above any risk from the disease they are being used to treat. 
 
Men between the ages of 50 and 70 were surveyed, and the statistics showed that ED risk increased with arthritis, but increased more when the arthritis was treated with NSAIDs


Painkillers tied to risk of erectile dysfunction

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Regardless of the reason for taking them, painkillers classified as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) apparently increase the likelihood that middle-aged and elderly men will develop erection difficulties, according to a new report.
 
NSAIDs include several widely used drugs, such as ibuprofen or naproxen
