Nebraska Man with Hepatitis Sues Over Stolen Body Parts

At a glance:

A Nebraska man who received stolen, unscreened tissue in the course of back surgery, alleges that he contracted Hepatitis B and C from the procedure and has filed suit against Biomedical Tissue Service Ltd. and related companies.
 
This is part of the stolen body parts scandal in which thousands may have received illegal tissue and would be at risk for disease, however in this case the disease actually exists.
 
Criminal charges are also pending against four company owners.
