Parkinson's Disease May Worsen in Hospital or Care Facility

Research in the UK has revealed that patients with Parkinson's Disease who are admitted to hospital or care homes for any reason, tend to have their Parkinson's worsen. 
 
The reason seems to be that medication is not reliably given on schedule. Maintaining the chemical balance in the brain is vital to body functions, including movement and organ function. It can take weeks for an imbalance to be properly corrected. 
 
The Parkinson's Disease Society and the British Department of Health say they consider this situation unacceptable.

Parkinson's Disease Society survey of 210 nurse specialists suggests patients have problems as a result of their stay as medication is missed or delayed.
