The American Academy of Neurology has issued recommendations to doctors concerning the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's disease.

The Academy is concerned about a high rate of misdiagnosis, with doctors both missing the disease and diagnosing it falsely.

Some vague symptoms such as fatigue, depression and sleep disorders are common in Parkinson's because of chemical changes in the brain, and doctors are encouraged to notice and deal with these issues.
