Loblaws settles hepatitis lawsuit
Four years after an employee of a west Toronto Loblaws store was diagnosed with hepatitis A — prompting a large-scale health scare and sending 19,000 people to get vaccinations — Canada's largest supermarket chain has agreed to compensate affected customers.
The proposed deal is worth $150 to anyone who received a hepatitis A vaccine, or consulted their doctor, as a precaution after public health officials disclosed the employee's condition to the public. It could cost Loblaws and its insurers at
