Infants Show Signs of Exposure to Second-Hand Smoke
According to a study published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers & Prevention, evidence of exposure to a cancer-causing agent can be found in the urine of infants exposed to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS).
Exposure to ETS (also known as second-hand smoke) is the third-leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. It is thought to account for roughly 3,000 lung cancer deaths each year, 1,000 of which occur in nonsmokers
