Double Check your Prescription Refills

An incident in Cape Cod recently highlights the need to verify that the medications dispensed by your pharmacy are actually correct. 
 
Luckily, the patient, a former nurse, noticed that the medications delivered to her by CVS Pharmacy were meant for someone else and did not take them. 
 
In this case, the error was in sending a medication to the wrong patient, but other types of errors such as mislabelling can occur with any pharmacy or any type of retailer. 
 
This particular incident is under investigation.


Hyannis CVS admits dispensing wrong drugs

''I've always kept on top of what I take,'' said Putnam, a diabetic and four-time stroke victim. ''You can't fool me.''
 
A former nurse, Putnam wasn't fooled May 8 when a Hyannis CVS dispensed her order with an accidental substitution - three of somebody else's medications. Putnam, who noticed the mix-up before consuming any of the medication, claims it's the fourth misstep in two years, all at the Cape Cod Mall CVS.
