Portable Generators Can Cause Health Hazard

At a glance:

In countries where the power supply is unreliable, such as India, portable generators run on diesel oil are popular; however the fumes emitted may be hazardous. In the short term, they cause irritation and can set off asthma attacks; they may also cause lethal carbon monoxide poisoning. In the long term they can predispose to lung cancer.

Proper ventilation is essential.

Furthermore, the noise made by these generators can damage hearing and cause a stress reaction.

It is recommended to avoid these generators whenever possible.
