Diabetes and Heart Disease May be Early Signs of Cancer

Research has shown a link between heart disease and diabetes, and some types of digestive cancers, to the extent that doctors are urged to screen heart and diabetes patients for these cancers, for the purpose of early detection. 
 
Furthermore, some medications for heart disease, such as ACE inhibitors, work to reduce this cancer risk. 
 
In particular, patients newly diagnosed with diabetes should be screened for pancreatic cancer since this deadly form of cancer has few symptoms until the advanced stage. 
 
Diabetes and coronary artery disease were also found to be associated with colorectal cancer.
