Australian Town Condemned for Asbestos

A town in Australia is being shut down by the government because of asbestos contamination.

According to the Asbestos Diseases Society in Australia, there is still a dangerous situation there, as people who went to work on the water and electrical supply have become ill and died. 
 
The government intends to cut off power to the town and give the residents assistance in moving elsewhere.


Asbestos society warns against Wittenoom visits

The Western Australian Government and the Asbestos Diseases Society have condemned people living in Wittenoom, in the state's north-west, saying they are luring tourists to the town who do not know about the dangers of contracting a fatal disease.
 
The Government will disconnect power to the town this Friday and offer residents a package to move elsewhere because of health risks
