Ford Motor and Mazda found responsible for neglecting to warn buyers

Ford Motor Company and Mazda have been found guilty by a Texas jury of neglecting to warn consumers about the dangers of older tires.
 
In the first case of its kind, Rose Munoz was awarded $29 million for tire failure. Never before had a lawsuit against an automaker failing to warn buyers about the hazards of aged tires been victorious. The lawsuit alleged that the tire in question was only three days old when the tread came off, and blames aging as the primary cause.
