Toyota Recalls Include Prius

At a glance:

A Toyota Prius recall in the US is part of a larger global recall of ten Toyota models worldwide. Half of the cars affected were sold in Japan and about 170,000 Prius' in the US are involved. 
 
The steering shaft assembly is defective and could crack, causing loss of vehicle control. 
 
The cars affected were built between September 2002 and November 2005. Toyota is contacting all affected owners.

LONDON, May 31 (newratings.com) – The world's second-largest auto manufacturer Toyota Motor Corp. Tuesday announced its intention of recalling nearly one million vehicles from around the globe in order to replace a faulty steering system component that could cause drivers to lose control of the steering wheel.
