Plane crash survivors sue Boeing
CHICAGO — Seven survivors of a 2005 plane crash in the Amazon jungle and the father of a 6-month old baby who was killed filed three product liability and negligence lawsuits Wednesday against the jet's manufacturer, the maker of the engines and a Peruvian airline.
In the lawsuits, the plaintiffs alleged the Boeing 737-200 operated by TANS Peru that crashed Aug. 23 and killed more than 40 people was "unreasonably dangerous," citing defects in the plane and inadequate training of the flight crew.
