Firestone Steeltex Tires To Again be Checked by NHTSA

At a glance:

The NHTSA will take another look at Firestone Steeltex Tires, specifically, the R4S, R4SII and A/T tire models made between 1999 and 2005. 
 
A California attorney, Joseph Lisoni, has been campaigning for a recall of Steeltex Tires, saying they have caused 57 deaths and 161 injuries, however the NHTSA has examined the tires previously and found no defects. 
 
Lisoni seeks class action status for his lawsuit against Firestone.

(Akron/Tire Review) NHTSA has agreed to again review Firestone Steeltex tires, prompted by the continuing efforts of California attorney Joseph Lisoni to get Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire (BFNAT) to recall the line.
