Ford Spark Plugs May Pose Hazard

At a glance:

Reports have emerged of a defect in Ford cars and trucks built between 1997 and 2003. It concerns spark plug failure in Ford Triton V8 and V10 engines, which were used in pickup trucks, SUVs and some car models.

The reported defect causes a spark plug to "blow out" of the engine, leading to a loss of power while driving.

So far Ford has denied that the fault lies with them, and affected owners have had to pay for expensive repairs.

The NHTSA also concluded that the issue did not pose a "serious safety consequence" so did not order a recall.

I had just gotten gas and went to take off and heard a very loud pow, like a rifle going off and as I took off my truck was making a terrible noise and losing power. After making it home, I found out that my spark plug had blown out of the motor. It sounds like Ford has some issues and needs to stand behind their vehicles. I am going to be calling my Ford dealer in the morning and also Better Business Bureau. I have also made copies of all info from here and am going to let others know. Maybe together we can get something done.
