Ford Expedition Fire in Texas Caused by Defective Switch

At a glance:

Ford vehicles with defective cruise control switches are still out there, and still burst into flames while parked. It happened this week in Beaumont, Texas. The fire destroyed the SUV and part of a family's home. 
 
The family claims they were never notified by Ford that the recall applied to their particular vehicle, a 2001 Ford Expedition, either by mail or during any of their visits to the dealership. 
 
The dealer says it's not up to them to notify customers, while Ford says it did send out multiple mailings.

A Beaumont mother is speaking out against the Ford Motor Company and a local car dealership, Hometown News reported Tuesday.
 
Dawn Henson-Farley said she and her family received no explanation or assistance after their Ford SUV burst into flames and burned part of their home Monday night
